Bhopal: After investigating for over an year, a massage was blamed as the cause of a neck bone fracture and the man who administered the massage was arrested.

The victim, 35-year-old Harnabh Singh complained of neck pain after having a fall during a party in Nazeerabad in December 2015. His mother informed the matter to a local resident - Madhu Thakur who offered Harnabh Singh a massage to relieve the pain. However, during the massage, a neck bone of Harnabh Singh snapped and he fell unconscious. He was immediately rushed to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The subsequent postmortem report, too, failed to give a clear picture as to the cause of death.

A joint committee of medical and legal experts was formed which probed the cause of death for over a year. After thoroughly investigating the cause of death and events leading up to the time when the massage was administered, the committee members concluded that a neck bone was broken during the massage that resulted in his death.

Following the year-long investigation a case was registered and Madhu Thakur was arrested for culpable homicide not amounting to murder on Wednesday and was taken into custody.
