Maruthi’s Sister’s Extra-Marital Affair Was Cause Of Prodduturu Daylight Murder 

Prodduturu: His sister's extra-marital affair with a married man was the reason behind Maruthi Prasad Reddy's murder in broad daylight near Prodduturu court on Friday, according to police.

Maruthi's sister Anuradha(34) has been in a relationship with one Chandrasekhar Reddy in Sastri Nagar in town for a few years. As the wife of Chandrasekhar Reddy - Nirmala, and her brothers warned her to stay away, Maruthi is believed to have intervened and threatened them with dire consequences if they come in the way of his sister and Reddy. Nirmala's son Venkatatanuj Kumar Reddy died some time back in a road accident, but the victim's family believed it was a murder committed by Maruthi.

Nirmala's brothers - Raghunatha Reddy and Srinivasula Reddy planned to eliminate Maruthi to save sister's family. In an earlier failed attempt, Raghunatha Reddy and two hired killers - Patnam Dharani and Venkataramana were arrested on April 18 and they came out on bail on May 19. And this time around, Raghunath wanted to execute their plan at the court with the help of his brother Srinivasula Reddy.

The accused first stabbed the victim with knives and when he collapsed in the middle of the road, they hacked him to death with hunting sickles. The accused surrendered before the police after the murder in which four more persons were also involved, inspector Obulesu said.
