Martyr’s daughters write exam hours after losing father
Naik Sunil Kumar Vidyarthi’s three daughters paid perfect tribute to their martyred father as they turned their personal tragedy into a challenge. Gaya native Vidyarthi was martyred in the Uri terror attack on Sunday morning.
Even as their just widowed mother back home waited for the arrival of coffin, Arti, Anshu and Anshika silently wore their uniform and headed for the DAV school where they along with their classmates wrote the first-semester examination of class VIII, class VI and class II respectively. “The elder sisters had to write social science papers while the youngest one had her Hindi language paper,” said DAV teacher Ashok Kumar Jana.
“My father made sacrifices to give us education and realising his dream is my duty. Giving it up midway would have saddened his soul,” said Arti, the eldest of four siblings, including a toddler brother.
