Married woman set on fire for refusing sexual favour

In a shocking incident, an unmarried man set a married woman on fire when she denied his sexual advances at Munagapadu village of Phirangipuram mandal in Guntur district on Sunday.

According to reports, Shaik Shafi attempted to attack Rama Devi last month.

He allegedly asked the woman sexual favour and she turned down his request. She also told this to his husband, who warned Shafi. Enranged Shafi waited for an opportune time and attacked her when she was alone in the field. He poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. Locals rushed her to a nearby hospital. Rama Devi received third degree burns and her condition is stated to be serious.
