Ralegan Siddhi: A man was arrested by the police after he tried to sprinkle ink on Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis when the latter visited Ralegan Siddhi village on Saturday to perform 'Bhumi pooja' for the solar power project. The solar plant is being constructed under the newly-launched Mukhyamantri Agricultural Solar Feeder Scheme.

Earlier, a speech-impaired youth, tried to get closer to the stage with a job application when the Chief Minister was addressing the meeting along with social crusader Anna Hazare. The police identified the youth as Mahadev Kanade.

Meanwhile, there are reports in the media that villagers of Ralegan Siddhi are against the setting up of the Gramrakshak Dal. Gramrakshak Dal is aimed at curbing illicit liquor in villages across the state.
