Man threatens to jump off cell tower demanding wife back

Shankarapatnam (Karimnagar): As his wife was confined by her parents at their home 10 days after their love marriage, a depressed husband climbed a cellphone tower threatening to end his life in Mulamuru village in Shankarapatnam mandal in Karimnagar district on Sunday.

Regula Arun, a resident of Mulamuru village married a girl from neighbouring Chintalapally village despite the girl’s parents' resistance. After 10 days of their marriage, girl's parents took her forcefully away from Arun and confined her at their place. Arun asked them to send her back, but they wouldn't listen. He then climbed the cell tower and threatened that he would jump off to death. But police arrived at the spot before the in-laws.
