Man Pours Acid Down The Throat Of His Pregnant Wife

Kolar (Karnataka): A man and his mother were arrested by the Kolar police in connection with dowry harassment after the husband poured acid down the throat of his pregnant wife.

According to the police, Keshav Rao son of Umabhai hails from Karangikatta of Kolar district in Karnataka. Eight months ago Keshav had married Veenabhai of Chittoor district.

Not many days after the wedding Keshav Rao allegedly started harassing his wife Veenabhai for more dowry. When she expressed her disability to entertain his demands, Keshav began to assault her.

Over a month ago, Keshav along with his mother Umabhai forcefully poured acid down the throat of his wife, who was then five months pregnant. Veenabhai’s aunt along with the locals then rushed her to St. John’s Hospital in Bengaluru.

After she was discharged, Veenabhai along with her mother Anuyabhai approached the women’s police station in Kolar. She detailed the atrocities that her in-laws committed against her to the police.

The police registered a case and arrested Keshav Rao and his mother Umabhai.
