Man leaves wife claiming she is unattractive

A woman and her family members have launched a protest outside her husband's house, who left her saying she wasn't attractive enough.

The incident is making waves in Anantapur district. Aruna, daughter of Venkateshwara Reddy and Sheshamma, who hails from Hindupur, got married to Chandrasekhara Reddy, a fertilisers dealer based in Adoni, a year ago. Aruna is an M.tech and is a working as lecturer in Hindupur polytechnic college.
Chandrasekhar took Rs 5 lakh and 15 thola's of gold as dowry from Aruna's parents. In addition, he also took Rs 2 lakh for his business. However, he soon began harassing Aruna saying she wasn't beautiful enough. He was backed by his parents - Ramachandra Reddy and Chamundeshwari .
On Wednesday, Aruna and her relatives came to Reddy's house and wanted to have a discussion with her husband. However, they threw her out and left for an unknown destination leaving Aruna in the lurch.
Ever since, Aruna and her relatives are staging a dharna in front of the house. However, no complaint has been lodged so far.
Earlier, Chandrasekhar agreed to stay with after settling the matter with  The police said they can take action only if she files a complaint against her husband.
