Man Impregnates Woman After Promising Marriage

Mancherial: A man was booked on charges of cheating after he allegedly impregnated a 22-year-old woman by promising to marry her. The incident came to light on Sunday in Mancherial town when the victim lodged a complaint with the police.

The victim, a native of Ramakrishnapur village in Mandamarri mandal, lost her parents at an early age. Since then, she has been working as labourer and earning a living. She happened to meet Choudhary Shanker a few months ago and got acquainted with him. Shanker, on the pretext of marrying her, impregnated her.

After learning that she is pregnant and started to pressurize him to marry her, he started avoiding the victim. Later, Shanker along with his friends Sudhakar, G Krishnaswamy, T Uday Kumar approached her to settle the matter. They threatened to kill her if she reveals this matter and asked her to accept Rs 2.25 lakhs as settlement amount.

On Sunday, the victim approached the police and based on her statement the cops registered a case against Shanker and his friends.
