Hyderabad:  An unidentified man was charred to death when he got stuck into a high-voltage power distribution box near Secunderabad railway station on Saturday, police said.

The mishap occurred when the man went to attend nature's call between the 11 KV distribution box and a wall and tripped while returning, they said, adding that the box had no door. Locals suddenly saw sparks coming out of the box and alerted the police who immediately informed fire and power department personnel. Power was disconnected even as a fire engine was pressed into service and fire was extinguished. However, the man, in his 30s, was found burnt beyond recognition in the box, said Gopalpuram SHO S Ram Chandra Reddy. Police are investigating how the man fell into the box.
