Man Commits Suicide After Losing Wife’s Gold In Cricket Betting

Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man committed suicide on Friday after he lost his wife's gold ornaments in a cricket betting in the city.

Ghan Shyam(27), a resident of Bapuji Nagar near Pet Basheerabad was married on April 28. He made his living by running a Kirana store and he also played betting on cricket. On Thursday, he had placed a bet on a cricket match with 28 tolas of gold which belonged to his wife and he lost it. Feeling depressed over the loss of huge sum, he took the extreme step after writing a suicide note saying 'Sorry Mummy and Daddy'. Family members informed police after finding him dead.

The Police recovered the suicide note and sent the body for postmortem. Based on the victim's call history, police are probing into the case.
