Malakondaiah Takes Over As AP’s New DGP

Vijayawada: Senior IPS officer M. Malakondaiah on Sunday took over as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh.

The new DGP has been handed over the charge by the outgoing DGP N. Sambasiva Rao at an official ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Malakondaiah said he would strive to strengthen the department and make AP a safe and secure state by using modern technology. He said the police are facing tougher challenges after bifurcation of the state adding that the department is well equipped to rise to the occasion in any eventuality.

Sambasiva Rao expressed his satisfaction over his stint at the helm of the police department.
