Malakondaiah Appointed AP DGP
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed senior IPS officer M. Malakondaiah as the state Director General of Police (DGP). The current DGP Sambasivudu will retire on December 31.
Malakondaiah, who belongs to the 1985 batch, served as the Managing Director of APSRTC besides several other positions including DG of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He will serve as the DGP for six before attaining superannuation in June, 2018.
The government preferred Malakondaiah over two other senior IPS officials - Ram Prawesh Thakur and Vijayawada City Police Commissioner Damodar Goutam Sawang - who were also in the race for the post.
