Film set goes up in flames in Annapurna studio  - Sakshi Post

A major fire mishap occurred in the famous Annapurna studios in Banjara Hills on Monday evening. Two film sets, made of wood, caught fire. Quite fortuitously, there were no casualties as most of the employees had already left the place.

Four fire tenders were brought in and they battled for over two ours to put out the fires. Due to rush hour traffic, the fire tenders had to enter from the backdoor. The staff members have also barricaded the studio to prevent people from barging into the area.

Two film sets - one erected for Manam that featured three generations of the Akkineni family and the other one for Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa, a period flick based on the life of legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Both were reduced to ashes.

Actor Nagarjuna, who runs the studio, rushed to the spot, said the complete damage to Manam set was a personal loss for him as his father late Akkineni Nageswara Rao's last film was shot there. ANR had spent quite sometime in the sets. "I was emotionally attached to the sets. So, it's a great loss for me. But, I am happy that there are no casualties," he said.

Several serials, reality shows and television episodes are shot in Annapurna studio on a regular basis and sources said there were quite a few people at the time of the fire mishap.
