Hyderabad: If you ever lost your phone and tried to seek official help in retrieving it, you will remember the travails of running from pillar to post, between the mobile service provider and the concerned police station, getting your connection blocked and trying to register an FIR.

Most folks throw in the towel and walk away rather than trying to go through the process, but even if you were the resilient kind who did manage to complete the formalities, your hopes of tracing and retrieving the phone slowly but surely faded away; and all that remained were memories of bitter experiences about the whole affair.

Well, here is some news that will cheer you up! Riding on an empowering technological adoption, the Hyderabad police is now able to find your lost or stolen phone for you. They have shown this by retrieving 30 phones and handing them back to their original owners recently.

These owners had earlier registered their grievance through the City Police App,Hawkeye -lost report. On Thursday the police invited them to the police commissionerate and handed them their lost phones. The owners, who had lost hope of finding their phones were pleasantly surprised, if not taken aback. They were very appreciative towards the city police for their endeavour.

Additional Commissioner Anjani Kumar and city IT Cell in-charge, K Srinath Reddy and others were present at the occasion.
