Bengaluru: Police officials investigating the arson attacks of September 12 in the city, during the agitation for Cauvery river water, have claimed that a 22-year-old woman was responsible for burning down 42 buses.

After a thorough analysis of various CCTV footages, they identified the woman as C Bhagya. On the fateful day, she along with several protestors burnt 42 Volvo buses belonging to KPN Travels. “She also threatened the KPN staff of setting them ablaze after drenching them with diesel,” a senior police official said. The frightened staff, therefore, did not make any effort to stop the agitators from burning down the buses.
