Lokayukta wants report on medical facilities by Dec 31

Taking suo motu cognisance of a newspaper report on lack of medical facilities in state-run hospitals, Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta Justice B Subhashan Reddy has called for reports from the Director of Medical Education and Director of Health.

They were directed to submit their reports by December 31. According to the report which appeared in a Telugu daily, even though funds were provided both by the Central and state governments, they have not been properly utilised for providing medical facilities to patients, particularly in rural areas.
