Lokayukta seeks report on violation of RTE - Sakshi Post


The Lokayukta on Monday ordered the Commissioner of Education Department to submit a report on the alleged violation of Right to Education Act.

Reacting to the petition filed by State Association of Children’s Rights, the Lokayukta asked the commissioner of the Education department that the school managements were fleecing lakhs of rupees in the name of talent tests from the parents even before beginning of schools. The association alleged that the school managements were collecting huge amounts from the students by selling notebooks, school uniforms and other goods on the school premises. The association sought intervention of Lokayukta and see that admissions should not be done before April 14 and also action against the school managements which violated the norms under Right to Education Act.
