YSR Congress Party MPs have been on hunger strike over the last four days. They are protesting against the injustice to Andhra Pradesh. As per the promise made at the time of bifurcation of AP, the state was to get Special Category Status. However, the promise was never fulfilled. The YSRCP, which has been relentlessly fighting for the cause over the last four years has vowed to fight till the end.

The party MPs even gave up their Lok Sabha posts for the sake of state. YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the 5 MPs had made that sacrifice for the sake of the 5 crore people of the state.
