Life Expectancy Low In Telugu States
Hyderabad: According to the data compiled by the Sample Registration System (SRS) under the Census office, the life expectancy at 68.5 years for individuals in both the Telugu states is lower than 12 other states.
The data was taken for the period of 2010-14 when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were one state.
Meanwhile, Kerala stands with highest life expectancy in the country at 74.9 years, while a male has a life expectancy of 72 years and female 77.8 years.
The main reason attributed for lower life expectancy in the Telugu states is higher infant mortality rate (IMR) than in Kerala making life expectancy at birth lower.
