Lawyers clash at AP High Court; Several arrested

What started as a peaceful rally turned ugly creating a tense environment at the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday.
On one side, the lawyers from Seemandhra formed a human chain to protest Centre's decision to divide the state, on the other Telanagana lawyers staged a dharna in a counter agitation. Tension prevailed when they attacked each other at the court premises. It is learnt that two persons were injured in the melee.
The clash between the two created panic with some lawyers running into the court to avoid being attacked.
Police was forced to take them into custody after they comply to the requests. Police also stopped the rally being carried out by the Seemandhra lawyers and arrested them.
As many as 1000 police personnel have been deployed at the court as a part of security measures. The cops also shut all the gates of the court to prevent lawyers from going out.
