A fire-fighter’s instinct kicked in to help him save his girlfriend's life, after she was shot in the heart during the gruesome Las Vegas massacre last Sunday.

Kelly Culbertson, the firefighter, realised that his girlfriend was unable to breathe. His training as a firefighter took over from there. An expert in trauma care, he resuscitated her quickly before help arrived. After undergoing open heart surgery, the victim of the tragic shooting is reportedly recovering, according to Culbertson.

Oddly enough, the professional firefighter claimed that he was not a supporter of gun control, a debate that has divided the US once again in the aftermath of the Las Vegas tragedy.

Culbertson felt that people should focus more on the spirit of selflessness which people demonstrated in the wake of the tragedy. He believed that people should be allowed to keep guns. The fire-fighter’s logic, bizarre as it might seem to many, was that it would probably be helpful to have more people capable of defending themselves.
