KTR Says T-Hub Has Incubated 346 Start-ups
Hyderabad: T-Hub, the start-up incubator set up at the initiative of the Telangana government, has incubated 346 start-ups and 835 'associated start-ups' in the two years of its existence, state IT Minister K T Rama Rao said here today.
The T-Hub has finished two years of its operations on November 5, 2017, he said in reply to a query in the Legislative Assembly. The T-Hub is collaborating with a number of reputed IT and other companies in different areas, he said.
The state government is promoting start-ups as job openings, on a large scale, are expected to be generated by them in the coming years and not from large companies 'cumulatively,' Rao said.
Observing that the state government is also encouraging rural innovation, he said the state government has offered a grant of Rs one crore to Chintakindi Mallesam, a recipient of Padma Sri award, who invented a machine to help weavers.
The government has drawn up plans to promote start-ups in cities and towns like Warangal and Khammam, Rao said, adding that a state innovation cell has been set up. (PTI)
