Hyderabad: Telanagna IT minister KT Rama Rao heaved a sigh of relief after he was acquitted in a 'rail roko' protest held as part of Telangana agitation in 2011. Along with KTR, ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Padma Rao and 14 others were also acquitted on Wednesday by the Special Judicial First Class Court for Railways-cum-second Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Secunderabad.


On March 1, 2011, a mob stalled the Godavari Express at Moula Ali following which a case was registered against 14 persons. The loco pilot, the train guard, station master and the investigating officer were the witnesses during the trails. The verdict was pronounced as the witnesses couldn’t identify the accused.
