KTR orders GHMC to pull down all illegal publicity material - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: With no elections on the political horizon in the near future, the TRS government seems to have finally relented on unmasking the city from behind the pink shade that had engulfed it so far. The Municipal Administration minister K.T Rama Rao on Thursday ordered GHMC to pull down all illegal publicity material that is disfiguring the city.

With immediate effect all illegal hoardings, banners, flexis, posters are to be pulled down in the city. GHMC is reported to have already sprung into action.

Criminal cases, fines and prison sentences await those who continue to violate the rules by invoking the Public Places Disfigurement Act. The rules are to be strictly observed, according to the minister.

Stating that the GHMC officials should not discriminate between the ruling TRS party or other parties or institutions, Rama Rao said that even organisations and individuals have been violating the rules by illegally installing publicity materials.

With the GHMC staff already on the job of ridding the city of these materials, one can only hope that the resilience of the minister and the drive of the officials remain constant even in the face of future election activity.

In the words of the minister, Hyderabad should henceforth be 'Swachh Hyderabad' and the GHMC along with the cooperation of the citizens should keep it that way.
