Kodela injured in police lathicharge

The Congress party is making all efforts to win the cooperative society elections to regain strength in the state. But the opposition parties are working overtime to stop that.

Telugu Desam Party leader and former minister, Kodela Sivaprasad Rao was injured on Sunday at Narasaraopeta during a police lathicharge when he, along with other TDP leaders started protesting against cooperative minister, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy.

Alleging Kasu Krishna Reddy and his son were behind the irregularities taking place in the coop elections, the TDP leaders in large numbers laid seige to the cooperative office. There was an alteration between the TDP leader and the police. To disperse them, the police resorted to lathicharge. Later, police arrested Kodala.

It is said that Kodela was injured in police lathicharge. As the situation is tense, the police imposed Section 144 in the town.
