Kodandaram among TJAC leaders arrested - Sakshi Post

Shantinagar in Mehboobnagar district was tense for sometime this afternoon when the agitating Telangana (Political) Joint Action Committee (TJAC) leaders and activists were arrested.

The TJAC functionaries, led by their chairman, Prof Kodandaram, were proceeding from Hyderabad towards Rajoli in Mehboobnagar to stage a protest in the way of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s Padayatra. During his Padayatra Naidu entered Mehboobnagar district in Telangana region this morning.

The TJAC leaders were planning to prevent Naidu from entering Telangana region unless he clearly spells out his stand on separate Telangana. Sensing trouble, the police took into custody the TJAC leaders near Shantinagar en route Rajoli and shifted them to the local police station.

There were heated arguments when the police tried to dump the protestors in the van. The TJAC functionaries raised slogans against the State administration condemning the “highhanded” behaviour of the police. Before being shifted to the police station the agitators also squatted on the road obstructing traffic for sometime.
