Know this famous yummy ‘Kalluri Pakodi’

Anantapur: ‘Pakodi’… also called ‘Pakora’ is a famous Indian fried snack that everyone relish eating it hot. You are going to read a travelogue news story about an eatery which has been famous for mouth watering ‘Kalluri Pakodis’ for the last 50 years.

‘Kalluru’ railway station in Anantapur district is well known for Pakodis. Here, the yummy pastries are called Kalluri Pakodis. These fried snacks are very famous that almost every passenger who stops by at this railway station will definitely head to Kalluri canteen where the delicious pakodis are available.

The canteen, which is run by father-son duo, has been popular since 1964. The canteen got the popularity as the makers use quality ‘Chana flour’, pure refined oil and onion from Pune and Urlagadda in little quantity to make the delicious eatables.

Also the packing of kolluru pakodis is different from others. They pack in dried leaves so that the taste and storage capacity of the snacks will not be affected for at least 10 days. The pakodis here sold at a reasonable rate of Rs. 5 each. It is said that the famous spiritual preceptor Puttaparti Sathya Sai Baba was also used to be very fond of these pakodis.
