Deepika Carried A Huge Burden in Padmavathi: Know More

Know what's the weight of the lehenga that diva Deepika Padukone will wear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial magnum opus Padmavathi? If sources are to be believed, the stunningly designed, heavily brocaded Lehenga weighs 26 Kgs and her dupatta 4 kgs. So, Deepika will wear 30 kgs on her person, besides the heavy and hand-crafted ornaments.

Well! This is not something new for Deepika. She wore 30 kg lehengas in Ram Leela, while in Bajirao Mastani, she wore attire that weighed 20 kg.

Sanjai Leela Bhansali's earlier heroines too wore heavyly ornate designer ware. Madhuri Dixit's contume in Devdas weighed 30 kg, while Anushka Sharma's Lehenga in the famed Channa Mereya song in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil weighed 20 kg.

According to Deepika's dress designer Rimple, the fabrics and embroideries were all handmade. A lot of mulls, chanderis and kotas were used.

The film has Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor playing the roles of Allauddin Khilji and Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the Raja of Chittore.
