KL University’s Nigerian Students Attack Local Driver

Guntur: About half a dozen Nigerian students studying engineering at KL University in Guntur attacked a local person with knives injuring him seriously on Sunday.

The students picked a quarrel with D. Sunil, a local driver, while having drinks at a wine shop at Vaddeshwaram in Tadepally mandal. When Sunil warned them with dire consequences if they are aggressive with the locals, the students grow further violent and stabbed him at several places. When the locals came to the risque of Sunil, the students fled the spot and locked themselves inside their room.

The locals chased them and tried to attack them, but the police intervened and shifted the students to Mangalagiri rural police station. Villagers were staging a dharna at the police station demanding that they be handed over to them.

The condition of the victim is stated to be serious. Investigation is on.
