Kiran Bedi joins BJP

Kiran Bedi joins BJP - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi joined the BJP Thursday, ahead of Delhi assembly elections scheduled Feb 7.

Flanked by Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Bedi, who was earlier attached with India Against Corruption led by Anna Hazare, became a member of the party by dialling the toll-free number started for the BJP's mass membership drive.

Addressing media persons after inclusion, Bedi said, "I have joined BJP due to the inspirational leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi".

“Today Kiran Bedi ji has joined BJP, and I am sure Delhi BJP party will be strengthened due to her presence,” Amit Shah said.

Shah, however did not divulge details on her being the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Delhi election

Meanwhile, actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada is also likely to join the BJP and may be fielded against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi assembly election, BJP sources said Thursday.
According to a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, the party is banking on the actor's glamour quotient to win the New Delhi seat won by Kejriwal in 2013 after defeating three-time chief minister Sheila Dikshit.
Jaya Prada fought the 2014 Lok Sabha election as a Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate from Bijnor but lost.
