Kerala Andhra Pradesh Volleyball Tournament Held In Baltimore
The fifth Annual Kerala Andhra Pradesh (KLAP) volleyball tournament, touted to be the biggest All Indian tournament in North America, was conducted on October 16, 2016 at the UMBC campus in Baltimore, Maryland.
30 teams with over 280 players and volunteers from Tampa FL, New Jersey, New York, Chicago, Maryland, Virginia, Toronto, Vancouver and Windsor participated in a tournament that was hosted at the world class indoor Sportsplex.
Welcoming the players to the tournament, the founders of KLAP Vijoy Pattammady, Venkata Reddy Yarram, and Johnson Kadamkulathil reminded everyone how sports has always been a special focus to the Indian community in USA and encouraged the players to show the true spirit of the game.
To ensure a spirited participation from professionals and amateurs alike, the organisers introduced two formats of the game. Winners and first and second runners-up were declared in both the divisions. The results were as follows-

The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Wildelake Interfaith center followed by a dinner banquet and entertainment extravaganza that included Bollywood dance, songs and other cultural activities performed by professionals.
The sponsors presented the trophies to the winners, runners-up, best setter, best attacker and most valuable player.
