Kejriwal to meet AAP legislators on Sunday
New Delhi: A day after he sacked one of his ministers on corruption charges, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet all AAP legislators on Sunday to underline the need for value-based politics.
The Aam Aadmi Party leader tweeted on Saturday that the Sunday meeting would also involve families of the legislators.
The meeting, he said, was "to remind them why we came (into) politics. To warn them that Asim Khan episode should not happen again".
On Friday, Kejriwal publicly sacked Asim Ahmed Khan as food minister on charges of demanding Rs.6 lakh in bribe from a builder.
The dramatic announcement took place at a press conference where Kejriwal played an audio tape of a conversation purportedly involving Khan, the unnamed builder and a middleman.
The AAP has 67 legislators in the 70-member Delhi assembly. The Bharatiya Janata Party has three members.
Khan is the second minister in the AAP government to exit in disgrace. Then law minister Jitender Tomar was forced to resign in June after police arrested him on charges of faking his educational degree.
It was not clear if Khan and Tomar would attend Sunday's meeting.
