KCR says no to merger with Congress?
"How Kashmir is like to India, Adilabad is same to Telangana."
Ending months of speculations, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday reportedly said that there will be no merger between his party, which was at the forefront of the Telangana agitation, and Congress.
He however hinted that there may be poll-alliance with the ruling party in the coming elections. He told this to his party leaders at the Politburo meet at TRS Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Addressing the media after inviting two TDP MLAs in Hyderabad, the TRS chief also said that there was no place for Andhra parties in Telangana.
Two TDP MLAs- Nagesh and Satyavathi Rathod officially joined the TRS in the presence of KCR.
Interestingly, he compared Adilabad district to Kashmir. "How Kashmir is like to India, Adilabad is same to Telangana. There is a need to build projects in Adilabad and Warangal and develop them," he said while calling upon the TRS leaders to rebuild Telangana themselves.
He also promised 12 % reservations for tribals in Telangana region. He also assured that tribal leaders would get to head posts in tribal areas.
Stating that the party will fight elections alone, KCR hoped that TRS would win more than 80 seats in Telangana.
