KCR lists out Telangana's welfare programmes
Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao said Hyderabad topped in Telangana in terms of revenue accruals.
Participating in the meeting of 14th Finance Commission in Hyderabad on Friday, he said, the Telangana government was implementing special programs to eradicate poverty in the state.
“We started distributing three acres of land to each Dalit family in the state. We provide drinking water facility to each house in the state,” said the chief minister in the meeting.
He also explained the conditions of the state to the officials of the finance commission.
Speaking in the meeting, KCR said, “There are some backwards districts in Telangana like Mahabubnagar and Khammam. We will take steps to provide 12 per cent reservations to the tribals in the state. We will provide basic facilities for the industrialists who wanted to set up industries in the state. I am requesting the finance commission to provide special status to Telangana.”
Finance minister Etela Rajendar and other higher officials were also present.
