KCR is anti-Dalit: Krishna Madiga
The Dalit leaders in the state are unhappy with the TRS and especially with its top leader K. Chandrasekhra Rao.
Addressing a media conference in Hyderabad on Monday Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) chief Manda Krishna Madiga found fault in the way KCR reacts to assaults and attacks on Dalit leaders and cadres.
KCR has always exhibited open support to upper caste leaders. Even when Prof Kodandaram met KCR recently, KCR gave a clean chit to him saying “Kodandaram has made no derogatory remark against any Dalit leader”.
This shows the anti-Dalit attitude of KCR. In the garb of Telangana cause there have been several attacks on Dalit leaders, Krishna Madiga said.
Even when our leaders were trying to pay homage to Jaishanker sir and attend his funeral our leaders were brutally attacked and their cars burnt. MLAs Shankar Rao, Sarayya, Minister Ponnala, and MP Vivek were all insulted when they wanted to pay their respects to the departed leader. KCR kept silent and did not condemn the violence and attacks by TRS cadres on Dalit leaders.
But when Nagam Janardhan Reddy was beaten by an unknown person in OU campus, when he went to attend a condolence meeting there, KCR lost no time in condemning the attack and also went to Nagam’s residence to know his health condition.
This bias attitude of KCR has caused fear in the minds of the Dalits that when Telangana becomes a reality, Dalits will be unsafe, Krishna Madiga said. “KCR is paving the way for a total upper caste rule,” he said
To create the awareness about the dangers lurking ahead for Dalits MRPS will hold rallies, dharnas and rasta roko at district and mandal levels, from November 22 to 25, Krishna said. He would personally lead the rallies at some places.
A public meeting would be held in Suryapet on Nov 25, he said.
