KCR Invites President Pranab Mukherjee For OU Centenary Celebrations, Skips PM
Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday invited President Pranab Mukherjee for centenary celebrations of Osmania University to be held from April 26 to 28. Later KCR met HRD minister Prakash Javdekar and extended a similar invitation.
KCR along with his team of delegates went to Delhi to invite dignitaries for the event. However, the guest list conspicuously skips Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Centenary programmes listed out on Osmania University website also did not have a mention of Narendra Modi.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, Rajya Sabha MP K. Keshava Rao, Lok Sabha MP AP Jitender Reddy and MP B. Vinod Kumar were among those who accompanied KCR.

Nobel Laureate Prof Kurt Wuthrich will deliver the curtain raiser lecture on February 10, said H. Venkateshwarlu, special officer for the centenary celebrations. Wuthrich will be speaking on his experience of being in the field of science for 50 years. He is a Switzerland based chemist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2002.
Meanwhile, the state government has planned to make the three-day event a grand fete as programmes have been carved out to showcase Telangana culture and heritage.
