KCR Calls Telangana India’s Model State At TRS Plenary 2018

Hyderabad: The 17th plenary of Telangana Rashtra Samithi started on a colourful note this morning in Kompally. The party President and Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhara Rao unfurled the party flag and paid homage to Telangana martyrs to kick-start the annual event. Unlike all the other plenary meetings, this time there is an air of enthusiasm among the partymen and volunteers. This is because the entire event has donned national colours.

The plenary of the party was to take stock of what the TRS had done in the year gone by and discuss plans for the year ahead. This year too they have an agenda for this but the dominating factor would be the formation of an alternative front at the national level. The front which is likely to be termed as Federal Front will be culmination of regional parties and will be a front of non-BJP and non-Congress parties.

• Welfare at every doorstep--a smile on every face
• A nation-wide movement for bringing a qualitative change in country’s politics
• Equality-based minorities' welfare
• Creation of an extensive network of basic amenities for sustainable development
• Telangana agriculture policy as an ideal for the rest of the nation
• Administrative reforms on a massive scale to take governance to the doorsteps of the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao welcomed the local and overseas delegates. He spelt out the policies of his government and described Telangana as the best governed state in the country. He faulted the BJP as well as Congress for not focussing on development and pointed out several areas where India could have forged ahead. KCR singled out TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy for spreading lies about the TRS leadership. He reminded the TPCC chief that it was the TRS and its pink scarf which was instrumental in fighting for Telangana and achieving a separate state.

The party meet will also discuss different welfare schemes introduced by the TRS government in the State as well as various infrastructure development programmes in the past four years and the way ahead on these subjects. The resolutions to be adopted at the meeting include one on welfare programmes, how the TRS government’s welfare schemes for the minorities are a role model for the rest of the country, agriculture and irrigation, basic infrastructure that includes electricity supply and drinking water supply through Mission Bhagiratha, and administrative reforms.

The plenary is attended by all the State Ministers, MPs, legislators, TRS State level office bearers, chairpersons of various State government corporations and Zilla Parishads along with former ZP heads, mayors of different municipalities, chairmen of market committees, ZPTCs, MPTCs, party corporators in civic bodies, and party in-charges in constituencies not represented by the TRS.
