KCR calls for bandh tomorrow

Telangana Chief Minister-designate, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has called for a total bandh in the region on Thursday protesting against proposed ordinance on Polavaram project that will see the transfer of seven mandals, 136 villages, and 211 hamlets of Khammam district to Andhra Pradesh.

This was the first bandh call given by KCR after Telangana formation.

KCR pointed out that such a transfer cannot take place in the absence of governments in both the states. The boundaries can only be changed after it was taken up by respective governments, and after a discussion on the same takes place in the parliament.

He has appealed to every one in Telanagna participate in the strike.
