KCR blames Cong, TDP for present power crisis

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhara Rao on Tuesday accused TDP and Congress of being responsible for the present power crisis by ignoring the future of the state.

He said out of 37 years of rule, Congress had ruled the State for 20 years, while the Telugu Desam for 17 years and blamed the two parties for present crisis in the power sector. Launching door to door campaign on Telangana in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the TRS leader said the ability of TRS should be made known to the people of Hyderabad.

Stating that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was an egoist and acting crossing his limits, KCR said he had burdened the people to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore in the form of power charges. He said the TDP and the Congress were playing mischief and gimmicks with regard to power tariff. 

The Telugu Desam party was highlighting itself to come to power with the agitation on power tariff, KCR said and appealed to the industries not to leave Hyderabad due to power crisis as the TRS would see that there would not be any power crisis further if it achieved separate Telangana State. Talking about his newly launched programme "gadapa gadapaku Telangana", KCR said there were 70 lakh Telanganites in Hyderabad, whereas the number of Seemandhras was just 5 lakh. He said the Telangana sentiment was so strong in the twin cities. 

Complementing his nephew and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao, KCR said TRS sentiment was that the party would come out with flying colours wherever Harish Rao put his foot and exuded confidence that the party would win in Greater Hyderabad also. He also asserted that his party would aim to secure at least 100 assembly seats and 15 MP seats in Telangana.
