KCR Assures Full Support To Farmers

Karimnagar: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao criticised the NDA government for not doing enough for the farming community in the country. Speaking at the meeting of district and mandal members of the farmers' coordination committees at the second regional conference here today, he pointed out that both the BJP and the Congress were not bothered about the welfare of the farmers in the country.

He said that centre had huge budget, "can't they allocate a couple of lakh crore for the farm sector?" The CM mentioned that the government had enhanced the salaries of the government staff, thought he had nothing against the government staff, he questioned by were farmers being neglected.

In a scathing attack on both the BJP and the Congress, he said, "The problem is that if the people sideline the BJP, it will the Congress that will come to power. When it's the BJP, they chant Shyam Prasad Mukherjee and the Congress will chant Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi."

He challenged the farmers to go to the market and seek MSP, if they were denied they could immediately call the Farmers' Coordination Committee Corporation Chairman (Sukhender Reddy) and he would come to their rescue. He promised the corporation would take the yield and sell it in markets that command good price for such crops.

He added, "The state government is even ready to extend Rs 1000 crore guarantee to the corporation to procure the yield in the state."
