Hyderabad: The Telangana State Wildlife Board on Saturday approved the Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP) proposed to be taken up here.

A meeting of the Board, presided over by state Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna approved the project unanimously. Under the SRDP, the state government proposes to construct six multi level flyovers at the KBR park here to ease traffic congestion. The state government's proposal was challenged in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) citing environmental concerns. However, the proposal to construct the flyovers got a green signal with a recent verdict of the NGT, a state government release claimed.

The issue would come before a meeting of the National Wildlife Board this month end, the release said, adding that no damage would be caused to KBR Park due to the construction of the flyovers.
