Kavuri, Seelam among 8 new faces sworn in as Union ministers

Eight new faces were inducted into Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's council of ministers Monday - possibly the last reshuffle before the 2014 general elections.

The fresh-inductees included Oscar Fernandez, Sis Ram Ola, Girija Vyas and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao as Union Ministers. The Ministers of State are Manikrao Gavit, Santosh Chowdhury, J D Seelam and E M S Natchiappan. All the eight new faces are sworn in on Monday at Rashtrapati Bhavan and the President Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of the office.  Ola and Fernandes were ministers in the UPA-I but did not find a place in the UPA-II government. With the new inductions, the strength of the Council of Ministers will go up to 77.
