Kavuri: I did not hold anybody's feet for power

I got an opportunity to serve the people of the country, said newly inducted Union textiles minister, Kavuri Samba Siva Rao on Tuesday.  He vowed to bring more funds from the centre to the state, he said.

His supporters and party leaders felicitated Kavuri at the Eluru indoor stadium on his first vist to his home town. 

Speaking on the occasion, he said he has no desire for power and that he had not held anybody's feet to earn the post.

The new union minister also said that he has requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for loan waivers. Kavuri also said he was attempting to set up a security deposit to offer loans at low interest rates.

Ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana, Pitani Satyanarayana and several MLAs were also present on the occasion.
