Karimanagar Cops Seize Bikes, Explosives From Villagers
Karimnagar: Police on Tuesday seized a cache of explosives during a search at a village here and arrested one person in this connection, an official said.
They also seized 12 motorcycles kept without proper documents in two houses and arrested two persons, he said. The explosives were apparently being supplied to granite mines without having any permit for it, he said. A team of police personnel conducted a cordon and search at Durshed village in the district around 6 am and found nearly 125 detonators and 270 explosive sticks stored illegally in a house, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (law and order) P Sanjeev Kumar said.
Following the seizure of the explosives, the house owner was arrested, he said. The police suspect that the house owner was supplying the explosives to granite mines without having any licence to do so, the official said.
