Kapus in Mogaltur Burn Pawan Kalyan Flexis

Eluru: Even as both East and West Godavari districts are on the boil over Kapu reservation issue following the violent incidents at Tuni last Sunday, people of Mogaltur burnt the flexis of power star Janasena president Pawan Kalyan on Thursday.

The activist-actor is believed to be a Kapu and he responded ambiguously over the issue after Kapu agitators burnt Ratnachal express after their leader Mudragada Padmanabham gave a call to blockade roads and rail transport until the issue was resolved. Expressing concern over the incident, Pawan asked Kapus to maintain cool and wait for an amicable solution without affecting the interests of other backward class communities.

At a media conference, the power star who enjoys huge following among people, deliberately skipped the questions on his stand over the issue. While saying Kapus were in BCs until 1956, he did not clarify if they deserve reservations or not at the moment. "I have no clear understanding about this reservations thing," he said in his own cinematic style and disappointed people who were looking at him for a direction.

Mogaltur in West Godavari district is the native village of the Mega brothers - Chiranjeevi, Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan. Police said action will be taken against those involving burning of Pawan Kalyan's flexis.

The Janasena president is a friend of ruling Telugu Desam Party and he campaigned for its candidates in the last elections.
