Kapus Are Not Terrorists: YSRCP

Hyderabad: The Kapu community in the state are not terrorists and the state government's high-handedness on their agitation is uncalled for, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) said.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, YSRCP's East Godavari district president K Kannababu said that the government's decision to deploy thousands of police personnel in East Godavari district indicates that it is treating Kapus as terrorists. "The AP government is portraying the Kapu agitation as a law and order problem," he alleged and stated that it amounts to insulting the entire community.

The YSRCP leader also questioned the state government on the revised cost of the Polavaram project. "Why was the increased cost of the prestigious Polavaram project not sent to the central government despite repeated reminders by the latter," he asked the state government. Instead of answering the Central government, the TDP leaders are misleading the people with their tirade against the YSRCP, he added.
