Kapu Job Mela Leaves Kapu Youths Fuming, Poor Salaries, Petty Job Offers Greet Them
The prestigious Kapu Mela organised under the aegis of the Kapu Development Corporation of the Government of Andhra Pradesh faced tense moments when the Kapu candidates expressed their ire for the paltry job offers and the poor salaries promised. The students were also unhappy as prestigious companies did not take part in the job mela.
Many students were heard complaining that they were conned into travelling long distances to attend the mela, which practically has nothing much to offer. They said the job mela was poorly organised and there were no attractive jobs on offer.
Angry candidates at an engineering college in Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada took Kapu Corporation chairperson Chalamalasetti Ramanujaya to task for the fiasco. With the situation turning worse, the police arrested six youths. But, all the candidates staged a protest demanding the release of the arrested youth. The police immediately let off the arrested boys.
