Kanna supporters foresee him would-be CM
Speculations were rife over the change of guard in Andhra Pradesh to ensure smooth completion of the bifurcation process and also to keep the prospects of Congress party in coming general elections, intact.
Political circles abuzz with the news that Agriculture Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana to replace N. Kiran Kumar Reddy as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, in case the latter refuses not to cooperate with bifurcation process. It was also speculated that Kanna name was under consideration, as the High Command of Congress party was eyeing on the vote bank of Kapu community, reportedly a bigger group in the State.
As an inference to the belief, his supporters put up a poster that reads " Kanna coming soon as CM" at the Rachabanda programme in Guntur.
Meanwhile, he met former PCC chief D Srinivas adding more spices to the speculations. Speaking on this, his colleague and another minister from Guntur, Dokka Manikya Varaprasad welcomed the news, stating that he would be happy if Kanna, the son of the soil, as the Chief Minister.
