Kanhaiya not to participate in election campaigns
New Delhi: JNU student union leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Wednesday declared that he won't be campaigning in the upcoming elections in West Bengal and Kerala.
He thus put to rest expectations from various quarters about his participation, especially after the statement of the Communist Party Of India general secretary Yechuri Seetharam that Kanhaiya will lead the Communist parties campaigns.
The PhD scholar said that his focus right now is on finishing his doctorate. He revealed that he wanted to become a professor and that he was not interested to participate in mainstream politics and added that he is determined to follow his aspirations.
Kanhaiya Kumar had earlier been arrested under charges of sedition and had subsequently released on bail by Delhi High court.
